Angourie Green Pool: Body of teenager, 15, recovered from water after boy went missing at waterhole on NSW north coast
A 15-year-old boy has died after going missing at a waterhole on the NSW north coast as police pulled his body from the water following a lengthy search.
Emergency services were called to Angourie Green Pool, 5km south of Yamba, at around 3pm on Sunday after reports that a teenage boy was missing.
The 15-year-old was reported missing after jumping into the water from a rock ledge and failing to surface.
Emergency services, including Surf Lifesavers, police divers and a Westpac rescue helicopter, searched for the teenager.
His body was found around 10 p.m. and was formally identified as the missing swimmer.

Emergency services including Surf Lifesavers, police divers and a rescue helicopter assisted in the search for the missing swimmer, whose body was pulled from the water at around 10pm.
A report is being prepared for the coroner into the circumstances surrounding the teenager's death.
The boy's death marks the latest drowning in Australia, with the total rising to 49 over the summer, according to Royal Life Saving Society statistics.
There have been 48 drowning deaths in the country between December 1, 2023 and January 13, compared to 44 at the same time in the summer of 2022-2023.
It comes after a man died after being swept into the sea while trying to retrieve a pair of sunglasses at a popular beach in Victoria.
The man was in the water at Kilcunda Surf Beach with a group of friends about 8.30pm on Friday when he was swept into the sea while trying to retrieve a pair of sunglasses he had lost.
The man, believed to be in his twenties, was found unconscious on the beach an hour later.
