The Artic Monkeys gig at Glastonbury is on the line this weekend as frontman Alex Turner, 37, battles acute laryngitis.

The group were forced to pull out of a show in Dublin on Tuesday and their poor singer has been ordered to rest by doctors, leading fans to fear they won’t be able to perform at Worthy Farm.

With just three days until the band heads to the Pyramid Stage on Friday, music fans have theorized who could be called upon to replace the indie rock group if they are forced to pull out.

Now attendees, who paid £340 for a full weekend ticket, think they’ve found a solution – former One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles – who they’re touting as a possible replacement, as he has a perfectly timed gap in his schedule.

The 29-year-old singer, whose Love on Tour show has become a global hit, has a two-day break in his schedule meaning he can get to Somerset in time to perform.

He will perform at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on Wednesdays and Thursdays and take the stage in Werchter, Belgium on Saturday, giving him more than enough time to pack one more show.

‘Only a two-hour drive from Glasto. He’s the perfect replacement,” one fan wrote on Twitter, highlighting how close Cardiff are to Glastonbury.

Another wrote: “Harry Styles for Glasto as they pull out.”

Harry is also rumored to be one of many surprise guests at Sir Elton John’s headline performance on Sunday night, as he has another gap in his schedule.

Dua Lipa, Eminem and Pulp are also touted as potential secret artists. Guns ‘n’ Roses will be the headliner on Saturday.

But while the theory has delighted Harry fans, it won’t comfort heartbroken Artic Monkeys fans.

“Woah, what about Glastonbury? He won’t recover well for Glastonbury’ tweeted a concerned person.

‘Also Glastonbury will be canceled acute laryngitis has at least a week to recover from’ shared a second.

A third bewildered devotee remarked, “Nooooooooo! please get better from Glastonbury.”

Danger? With three days to go until the band will take the stage at Worthy Farm on Friday, music fans are panicking that Alex won't be well enough to perform.
