Adorable four-year-old girl is killed in horror crash on her way home from a swim lesson after speeding drunk driver slams into car – as heartbroken family break their silence

Tragedy struck an Arizona family when their four-year-old girl was killed in a horrific crash on the way home from swimming lessons after a speeding, drunk driver struck her family’s car.

Lily Moster died on June 6, the day after the devastating collision in Queen Creek, Arizona.

She was riding in her family’s minivan at a stop sign when it was struck by another driver going nearly 60 mph, police said.

The crash left her father Daniel and brother Luke, six, with minor injuries. Lily was evacuated to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, where she tragically died in her parents’ arms.

“It was the sweetest thing, you know, they removed all the material so mommy and daddy could actually hold her like a baby, and they cried and hugged her when she passed away,” said her grandfather, Dan Smith Family AZ.

“She is a treasure to the family. She’s just a sweet little spitfire.’

Jason Sanchez, 33, has since been arrested and charged with driving under the influence and manslaughter.

Police said his black Jeep Wrangler failed to brake prior to the collision. His blood alcohol level was 0.111 percent, well above the state’s 0.08 limit.

According to court documents, Sánchez admitted to drinking three or four beers at a casino before driving home.

He is booked into the Pinal County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

Lily’s devastated family must now pick up the pieces of their lives after the loss.

‘Dad feels guilty for no reason. It’s not his fault, but they’re struggling,” Smith said.

‘Just slowly getting used to it when mum comes home from the hospital for the first time and Lily isn’t there, that was a heartbreaking moment.’

He paid tribute to the ‘perfect, loving and kind little girl’ and spoke of the bond she shared with her brother.

‘They were very close. She idolized her brother,” Smith said. “When her brother’s favorite color turned red, suddenly her favorite color was red.”

The children were both in the backseat when the driver crashed into the back of their minivan.

Moster immediately ran to them after the crash and found Lily unconscious, Smith said.

“She will be greatly missed, but she will remain with us in our hearts. “They’re really clinging to Luke because he’s what they have left.”

A GoFundMe has been set up to help the family manage medical and funeral expenses.
