Arsenal next five games

The Gunners will not be in action this weekend after being knocked out of the FA Cup, but will visit Nottingham Forest in five days' time for a midweek match.

Next up is the tricky visit of Liverpool, followed by two easier Premier League games before the return to Champions League action.

Fabregas unveils Henry signing test

Cesc Fabregas has revealed that Thierry Henry would put Arsenal signings through a special training routine to test the level of their skills.

Fabregas said: “I think there are always questions in the dressing room. It's not about where he came from, it's more about the expectation.

“I remember Thierry Henry, he used to do it every time a new player came in, we would play five against two, it's called a rondo.

“He always took them to the rondos because he wanted to see the level and he gave them a strong ball to see if they could control it.

“I just remember that to see if he could handle the pressure.”

Arsenal eyeing Osimhen's summer transfer

Arsenal will enter the race to sign Victor Osimhen this summer, according to reports.

Osimhen is gearing up for a move away from Napoli in the summer after firing the club to the Serie A title and winning the golden boot last season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, writing for CaughtOffside, Osimhen has already made the decision to look for a new club this summer, believing his time in Naples was a “great success”.

Romano reports Arsenal will face competition from Saudi Arabia, while hinting to also “keep an eye on” Chelsea.

Arsenal appoints new CEO

Arsenal have announced the appointment of a new Managing Director, Richard Garlick.

Garlick will step into the role when Chief Executive Officer Vinai Venkatesham leaves Arsenal in the summer.

Arsenal co-chairman Josh Kroenke said: “Richard is recognized and respected across the industry for his vast experience, and we were delighted when he joined us in 2021 to take our football strategy to the next level.

“He has had a huge impact since joining us, working closely with our sporting director, Edu, in the development and implementation of the club's football strategy. He has built strong relationships within the club and the wider sector.

“Rich has been key to the progress we have made as a club – including recent transfers – and I am delighted that he will now lead our Executive Team and continue to drive the club forward with passion.”

Arsenal offered the chance to sign Wilson

Newcastle could sell Callum Wilson for just £18million in the final week of the January transfer window, with Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea all aware of his availability.

All three clubs are looking to sign a striker and a proven Premier League goalscorer has now entered the market.

Newcastle must raise money to ensure it remains in line with the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules, having spent around £400 million since being taken over by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund in 2021.

Hout closes upon return from injuries

According to journalist Steve Kay, Jurrien Timber could train again next month.

He adds that the summer signing could return to action against Newcastle.

Kay said: “He should be back in full training next month and I have heard some people saying he is earmarked for the game against Newcastle at the end of February.

“We could see him then, I don't think you'll see him until then, but hopefully if we're still in the title race he'll be available for the last ten games of the season and the run-in.”
