A joker on social media has divided Aussies on his response to an agent after he had heard that he would be fined for Jaywalking.

The interaction then moved to the footpath where the officer introduced himself and told Mr Erwin that their conversation was being recorded.

The officer asked him to produce his ID, but the joker said he had no one on him.

The prankster of the social media wondered why the officer had pulled him

“You have to produce something ID,” he said. “You have committed a violation.”

“Walk over the road?” Erwin asked unbelieving, to which the officer answered: ‘Yes, that is a violation. You are within 20 meters. ‘

The officer explained that at least one violation of the infringement would be sent to Mr Erwin ‘in connection with staying longer on the road than necessary, not crossing the marked pedestrian intersection and the disobedient of my police direction’.

Mr Erwin asked if the infringement of Demerit points was involved, but he was told that only administrators applied.

When the maker of the content tried to question the violation, the officer reminded him that “cars came while you were on the road.”

Social media users were divided over Mr Erwin’s interaction with the officer, in which some suggested that he would not have been fined if he had not been ‘rude’.

The officer ordered Mr Erwin to get off the road more than once before he obeyed

“Jaywalking fines will never be logical for me (from what the police are chill with it),” added another.

Jaywalking is a violation in NSW and pedestrians can get a fine of up to $ 220, which increases to a maximum fine of $ 2,200 if the issue goes to court.
