Australians ‘obsessed’ with brand new 90s trend emerging out of Miami Swim Week 2024 – and it’s perfect for Euro summer

A surprising new trend has emerged at Miami Swim Week 2024 – and Australian fashion lovers are already eager to get their hands on the talk of the town.

Designers have taken inspiration from 1990s fashion and created rosette bikinis using the popular flower-shaped decoration.

Popular brands such as Mahogany Coast Swim, Ema Savahl and Diva Boutique chose to hero the statement flower.

Rosette details add a three-dimensional element and feminine touch to swimwear, making this season’s pieces feel romantic yet sassy.

The Blue Topaz show opted to subtly embrace the trend by attaching white rosettes to a strapless bikini set – but Milus Rose went all out and created stringy bikini tops out of small rosettes that were only meant to hug the wearer’s nipples to cover.

While countless fashion brands are revamping Y2K styles, the swim industry opted to skip neon-bright triangles in favor of the classier — but somehow more outrageous — trend.

The designer also presented a two-tone denim bikini where one bra cup consisted of a rosette and the other a simple triangle.

The bottom of the denim design followed a classic silhouette made interesting by dark wash and light wash denim.

Other designers, including those from St Thomas University Fashion and Love For Upcycling, also chose to jump on the denim swimwear trend.

The latter revealed a unique one-piece with denim rosettes running down one side to match the high-waisted trousers.

The denim trend has also caused a stir as jeans are one of the most uncomfortable fabrics to wear on the beach, but fashion lovers are willing to give up their discomfort to keep up with the trends.
