The baggage handlers’ heartwarming act as they loaded the passenger’s dog, Daphne, onto the Virgin Australia plane
A traveler has praised two baggage handlers who comforted her dog as they loaded it onto the plane.
The woman, who was preparing to board a Virgin Australia flight, noticed the two men being extra careful as they loaded her dog, Daphne, onto the plane.
She uploaded a video to TikTok on Thursday showing workers carefully towing a trailer with a blue and orange container on top containing Daphne to the plane.
One worker, wearing a yellow hi-vis vest, began carefully loading the rectangular box onto the conveyor belt used to load the cargo onto the aircraft.
The other worker was seen adjusting the speed of the side conveyor belt before the pair carefully lifted the container onto the machine.
The baggage handlers guided the container along the conveyor belt until it was safely placed on the aircraft.
The female passenger didn’t let the act of kindness go unnoticed and added a caption to the video thanking the two staffers for treating her pooch with care.
“Daphne’s first flight and my heart melted when I saw how careful they were with her,” she wrote.
“Thank you Virgin Australia ground crew.”
Earlier in the video, one of the baggage handlers was seen kneeling and talking to the pet in an attempt to comfort her.
He checked the nameplate placed on the front of the container before sitting on the trailer while waiting to load the container onto the plane.

A Virgin spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia the airline is ensuring all passengers are taken care of during their journey.
“The health, safety and wellbeing of all Virgin Australia guests, including pets traveling with us, is our top priority,” the spokesperson said.
Dozens of users commented on the video, praising the “heartwarming” act.
‘This is so beautiful, all that love and respect for these kind of people!’ wrote one user.
“The way he guided him onto the conveyor belt,” said another.
