Bank customers should note that public holidays will vary from state to state and banks will be closed for 16 days in January 2024, including second, fourth Saturday, Sunday and other regional holidays. Apart from this, the banks were closed on January 22, 2024 to celebrate the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Classification of holidays

It is important to understand that the RBI has classified holidays into three categories such as holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act and real-time gross settlement holiday, and closing of accounts by banks.

Republic Day parade in Delhi

The Republic Day 2024 parade will begin on January 26 at 10:30 am and will follow the route from Vijay Chowk to Kartavya Path. The venue on the Kartavya Trail will accommodate around 77,000 people, of which 42,000 will be reserved for the general public.
