Baywatch's Nicole Eggert Reveals Stage 2 Breast Cancer Diagnosis

UPDATE 2/2 8:50am ET – Nicole Eggert revealed in a Inside edition sit-down that doctors had found more cancer in her lymph nodes.

'The self-exams, I tell you, I'm kicking myself [for not doing them frequently],” she said, according to a clip shared by the Daily email. “That's the only thing I should have done.”

Baywatch alum Nicole Eggert speaks about her “rough” journey with breast cancer.

“This has not been a light-hearted sale throughout life,” Eggert, 51, said People on Monday, Jan. 8, during which her diagnosis was revealed. “I always read inspiring quotes and corny things, but I get through it.”

Eggert was diagnosed with stage 2 cribriform carcinoma of breast cancer last month after experiencing “terrible pain” in October 2023.

“It really throbbed and hurt,” she remembers. “I immediately went to my GP and she said I should have it looked at straight away. But the problem was that I couldn't get an appointment. Everything was booked. So I had to wait until the end of November before I could get it done.”

Eggert underwent a discovery mammogram and three biopsies before being diagnosed with cancer. The actress will need surgery to remove the lump which Eggert “definitely feels” and said “needs to be taken out.”

Eggert admits that she doesn't know whether she should “undergo treatment before surgery” or vice versa.

“I'm panicking and thinking, get this out of me,” she said People. 'You sit there and it's in you and you think: every second that passes, it's in me. It grows, and you're like, you just want it gone.

In addition to her role as Roberta “Summer” Quinn BaywatchEggert played through Marci Ferguson Who is the boss? on a recurring basis from 1985 to 1986. Eggert is also the mother of two daughters, Dilyn, 25, and Keegan, 12.

Eggert recalled “the horror” on Keegan's face when he revealed the diagnosis.

“It immediately made me realize that you just can't give in to this,” she said. “This is something I have to go through. This is something I have to beat. She needs me more than anything.”

Eggert is “truly grateful” that her friends have since created a GoFundMe page to raise money for her “overwhelming” health battle.

“I just do everything I can to not spiral,” she explained. 'When I lie down at night, I panic because I think: Who is going to pay all the bills? Who is going to do all this?”

Eggert also praised the “outpouring of love” she has received since she made the diagnosis public.

“It changes your whole day and other people just don't have that,” she explained, noting her plans to create a nonprofit for single parents who “have no one to turn to” in these types of situations .

“I really want to find a way to give back to other parents who are in my situation and who are less fortunate,” she added.
