Bendendo Bank to close 10 branches in Victoria, Queensland and Tasmania

Bendendo Bank will close 10 branches in three states from August this year.

The bank said the decision came after a revision of customer preferences and costs.

“To maintain what makes our bank unique, we must balance our physical network presence with the need to continue to invest in the changing preferences of our 2.7 million customers,” said Richard Fennell, Chief Executive Officer of Bendendo Bank.

It comes after the federal government had concluded a deal with the Big Four Banks to maintain their regional branch network up to at least half past eight27.

In Victoria, the branches of the Bank in Ballarat Central, Bannockburn, Malop Street in Geelong, Korumburra, South MelbourneAnd Yarram will all be closed.

In QueenslandThe bank will close branches in Malanda and Tully North.

The Kings Meadows and Queenstown locations will be closed in Tasmania.
