This Bengaluru flyover will remain closed from today

As mentioned earlier, the Bengaluru Police has announced that the Peenya Elevated Highway, better known as the Peenya Flyover, will remain closed from today i.e. from January 16 to January 19, 2024. The flyover will be closed for conduction load testing by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) from 11:00 AM on January 16 to 11:00 AM on January 19, 2024. Commuters are advised to use alternate routes for the time being.

Latest announcement from Bengaluru Police

This information has been disclosed by the Bengaluru Police, which has said, “Due to the need for repair and retrofit measures for the distressed Nelamangala flyover as required by NHAI, for which a load test needs to be conducted to verify the increased stricture (Dr ..Shivakumar Swamiji Flyover) Part of National Highway 4. The National Highways Authority has requested to ban the movement of all types of vehicles from 16.01.2024, night 11.00 PM to 19.01.2024, 11.00 AM. Movement of all types of vehicles is prohibited along Peenya Elevated Highway from 16.01.2024 to 19.01.2024.”

Alternative routes to use instead of Peenya flyover

If you are traveling on the Peenya Flyover, the alternative routes you can use instead are:

  1. If you are traveling to Bengaluru city from Nelamangala via flyover, you are advised to use the adjacent NH4 road or service road up to eighth mile.
  2. Vehicles traveling to Gorguntepalya must do so via Dasarahalli, Jalahalli Cross, Peenya Police Station Junction or SRS Junction.
  3. If you are heading towards Nelamangala from CMTI Junction to reach Parle-G Toll, you are advised to take the NH4 service road; traffic from SRS junction via Peenya Police Station Junction, Jalahallll iCross 8th Mile will be facilitated to move along the service road.
