According to the report by news agency IANS, the Bihar education department has made it mandatory for contractual teachers in the state to clear the competency exam conducted by them.

Clear Competency Exam in maximum three attempts: Department of Education

Contractual teachers will have to take the competency exam in a maximum of three attempts or face losing their jobs, the department said on Saturday. A notice in this regard was issued by Additional Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Education KK Pathak on Saturday. Pathak is the chairman of the committee set up by the department for the competency examination. The Director of Primary Education, Chairman of Bihar School Examination Board and Director of Secondary Education are the members of the committee.

Competency Exam 2024: Check Application Dates, Admit Card Release Date

Earlier on December 26, 2023, the Cabinet approved a proposal to give status of government employees to around 3.5 lakh contractual teachers. It was also mentioned during the cabinet meeting that the contractual teachers have a clear competency exam to become government employees. They have to fill the forms for the exam between February 1 and 15, 2024. The admit cards for the same will be released on February 16, 2024. This year, the competency exam will be conducted between February 26 and March 13. 2024.
