Bizarre celebrity clutch looks like you’re carrying a plastic bird
A CANARY clutch bag has become a summer essential. It costs £600.
The bright yellow, feathered fashion trend is flying off the shelves, despite fans having to shell out a large chunk of their savings for it.
At just 16cm wide and 10cm deep, there’s barely room for a pack of cigarettes, let alone a mobile phone.
You access the contents by lifting the bird’s wing. There is no strap, meaning the proud owners have to sit with their bird in their hand.
Brand JW Anderson adds that the bag should only be cleaned with a “dry cloth”.
Selfridges reports that stock is low, while designer JW Anderson’s official website has sold out of all copies.
One website is asking nearly £1,000.
This came after Queen’s Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy, 28, was spotted with such a weapon during the women’s singles final at Wimbledon this year.
The designers of the bird bag previously launched a clutch in the shape of a dove, which still retails for £650.
Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker wore one as a token of appreciation for the designers.
