Shoppers are rushing to get their hands on a 'brilliant' B&M bargain that will keep the mold at bay, and a bargain will cost you just £1.50.

The tip was shared in the Facebook group Cleaning Tips and Tricks.

One user said: “Any ideas on how to stop mold growth in the bedroom?”

The struggling homeowner received numerous helpful messages with tricks they could use to combat bedroom fungus.

But one tip everyone seemed to agree on was the most affordable way to tackle the problem.

One user said: “Killrock mold spray, from home bargains or B&M about £1.50 spray, leave it on or spray and wipe on PVC.”

“It's brilliant.”

Many other group members said they agreed the mold spray was a winner.

One user said: “The best stuff I've ever used!”

Another said: “This is amazing.”

“I use this in my bathroom. Works well!” said a third user.

Someone else said: “Absolutely swear by this!!! No effort required. Great product.”

You can find the Killrock spray in B&M for £1.50, although you may have to visit a few shops to find it.

Please note that prices may vary per store.

If you can't find the spray in B&M, you can check out Ocado.

The online retailer has the spray on offer for £2.50 instead of £3.50.

This doesn't include delivery costs, so it may be cheaper to pick up this bottle from a weekly shop.

If you can't get your hands on this spray, there are a few others on the market that might be worth a try.

B&M is selling the Astonish Mold & Mildew Blaster for £1.19, which claims to effectively remove mold and mildew within minutes and kill 99.9% of bacteria.

B&M also sells the Ronseal 3-in-1 mold killer, but it is slightly more expensive at £6.99.

How can I save money at B&M?

The B&M barcode scanner app allows you to discover discounted items before the staff has even marked them down.

The scanner is located in the B&M Stores mobile app, which can be downloaded for free to your smartphone.

Shoppers can download it from the App Store or Google Play.

Once you download the app, the “scan” feature allows you to scan barcodes of any item in the store to see if an item has been reduced in size.

Bargain hunters say some items are being offered for £1, 50p or even 10p through the app.

Shoppers should also look for products with a white discount sticker on them.

This means that a certain amount is deducted from the price stated on the label.

At the end of the season it is cheaper to buy products.

Also be friendly to the staff, they can tell you when the sale starts, or if there are any bargains – so you get the best stuff.

Cheaper ways to tackle the problem

Mold is often caused by excess moisture in an enclosed space, so there are things you can do to prevent it from forming.

One of the easiest ways to prevent mold buildup is to open your windows every day to let in fresh air and keep the doors open between rooms.

Ensuring that air circulates continuously throughout your home will reduce condensation so mold cannot grow.

You should also open the cabinet doors regularly to let in fresh air and ensure mold isn't growing in the cabinet.

Other things that can help include not letting your clothes dry on radiators and always cooking with ventilation.

What to do in extreme cases of mold and moisture

In extreme cases of moisture and mold, it is best to keep windows open to allow airflow. Consider using an anti-fungal treatment to address the problem.

You can call in an expert and if you are renting, talk to your landlord to resolve the problem.
