Boy, 12, is killed by hit-and run BMW driver as police launch appeal for witnesses

A 12-year-old boy was tragically killed in Coventry after being hit by a car that failed to stop.

The collision happened on Radford Road shortly after 4.30pm on Friday.

Despite the efforts of the ambulance service, the boy unfortunately died on the spot.

The police are looking for information from any witnesses to the collision with a BMW car.

The police would like to get in touch with people who may have dashcam footage.

The vehicle was later seized, but police are asking for help finding the people who were in the vehicle at the time.

Sergeant Rich Evans, from the serious collision investigation unit, said: ‘We would appeal to the driver or any of the passengers who were in the vehicle to do the right thing and contact us.

“A 12-year-old boy has tragically lost his life and we need you to come forward and hand yourselves in.”
