A 74-year-old Brooklyn woman was killed Tuesday when part of the facade of her Sunset Park home collapsed on her as she was shoveling snow from her sidewalk, according to officials and video from a security camera at a nearby business.

The woman, whom authorities have not identified, was clearing the stairs for the three-story Sixth Avenue building where she lived around 12:30 a.m. when part of it suddenly collapsed on her, the video shows. Medical responders took her to Maimonides Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, officials said.

The woman's death prompted fire officials to request a structural stability assessment of the two-family home, according to Department of Buildings records, which show no outstanding violations at the address.

Steven Cottone, the managing member of the real estate entity that owns the property, according to Department of Buildings records, did not immediately respond to a telephone message Tuesday.
