One person is feared dead after a light aircraft crashed southwest of Sydney, NSW Police have confirmed.

The Cessna plane from a local flying school crashed at Brownlow Hill, about 9km from Camden Airport where it took off, at around 3.15pm on Wednesday.

NSW Police, ambulance and fire services attended the scene.
