Catherine Tyldesley was thrilled to meet comedian Russell Brand when she shared a sweet photo with the star on Instagram on Friday.

The former Coronation Street star, 39, took to social media to share her thoughts on the encounter, posting photos to her Instagram stories and grid to express her joy.

Catherine beamed in the photo as she posed outside next to Russell, and in the caption she wrote, “Had to lead with this photo of @russellbrand and me.

Gushing: Catherine also shared the photo on her Instagram stories and she wrote that Russell was one of her “heroes” and recommended her followers to read his books

Sweet: Reflecting on their meeting, Catherine said of Russell, “If there were more people like him in the world, this planet would be much better off!!”

Posting the photo to her Instagram stories, Catherine added, “when you meet one of your heroes! If you haven’t read his books, you should. The man is an earthly angel. Nice to meet you @russellbrand.’

Catherine created an effortlessly chic look for the outing by pairing a white shirt with a silver chain necklace and tiny hoop earrings.

Her dark brown locks were styled into a sleek bob and she wore a natural makeup palette to highlight her gorgeous features.

In addition to the picture with Russell, Catherine also shared snaps from her busy week, including an outing in the sun for which she wore a white dress with a red floral pattern for a classy look.

She complemented the ensemble by wearing stylish sunglasses, while choosing not to accessorize.

The star also posed for several snaps in what appeared to be a makeup trailer for a new project.

Her meeting with Russell comes after the acclaimed actress shared an honest update on rediscovering her confidence after giving birth to her second child nearly a year ago.

While sharing Instagram photos of a recent session with her stylist, Catherine admitted “it’s sometimes hard to feel comfortable in your own skin after baby.”

Catherine shares daughter Iris, 11 months, and son Alfie, seven, with her photographer husband Tom Pitfield, 35.

Catherine and Tom had a whirlwind romance, and after only four months of dating, they found out they were expecting their son Alfie.

Last April, they welcomed their second child, daughter Iris.

Speak against Notebook magazine, the actress said meeting Tom “came so, so out of the blue. I am extremely lucky. He ticks every box.”

Speaking of their surprise pregnancy with Alfie, she admitted ‘it was a shock to us, but we were both ready for it’.

“The fact that I wasn’t nervous about telling him proved to a point in my mind that he was the right man for me.”
