Cole Sprouse took a walk down memory lane and shared that he’s still in touch with one of his famous on-screen dads.
“Adam [Sandler] and I talk every now and then,” Sprouse, 31, revealed about his Baby Daddy costar during an interview with Gentlemen Heide on Monday, February 19.
The actor said that the duo plans to reunite and have a father-son reunion later this year.
“Actually, he’s coming to LA soon to film something that I’m visiting him for,” Sprouse continued, adding that the couple last saw each other in August 2019, when he attended a screening of one of Sandler’s films.
“I saw him at the Uncut gemstones premiere, and it was amazing,” he gushed. “I hadn’t seen him in a long time, and we just talked for an hour and had a few drinks at the after party.”
Sprouse went on to say that he was surprised that Sandler, 57, spent time with him since many other people were there to support the organization. Happy Gilmore star.
“[It] was so unnecessary, because it [was] his day – he really didn’t have to do that. But that’s just the guy he is,” Sprouse explained. “He’s very down to earth and as far as I can remember he’s always been that kind of guy.”
Sprouse was just six years old when he teamed up with Sandler for the 1999 cult classic. Despite being the only child on set, the Riverdale alum said he has nothing but fond memories of the project.
“I look back on it with great fondness,” he said, noting that it was about roles Big daddy which made him the actor he is today.
“I’ve been extremely lucky (or privileged), especially in TV, and I’ve been able to work with a lot of people who have a lot more experience,” he acknowledged. “Probably the best thing you can do, and I’m grateful I did in those situations, is just sit down, shut up and listen. I’ve had a lot of people hold my hand along the way, which was really nice, and if anything applies, I’ll use it in the future.
Over the years, Sprouse has been cast in a number of projects, including: Friends, Wizards of Waverly Place, The suite life, Five meters apart and most recently, Lisa Frankenstein, in which he plays ‘The Creature’. He also starred as Jughead Jones on The CW hit Riverdalewhich concluded its seventh and final season last year.
