Constance Hall goes on an epic public rant about husband Denim after they moved back in together: ‘Sick of it’

Constance Hall has complained about her husband’s lack of effort in household chores after the couple moved back in together eight months ago.

The Perth mother of six feels like she is treading water, juggling childcare, helping with projects, cooking and everything in between.

While her husband Denim asks Cooke how he can help, Constance claims that she always has to tell him what to do and “micromanage” his contributions.

“For over seven years I’ve been tired of hearing myself say the same thing: ‘I don’t want to have to tell you what to do. You’re not my employee, I’m not the manager of our house,'” she wrote in an long Facebook post.

‘We do it together. Use your eyes and see what needs to be done. Take away some of the mental burden I’m drowning in.”

Constance said she doesn’t know how to handle it if she also has to check his duties.

“He tells me, ‘I’ll do anything you want. Just tell me and I’ll do it,’ as he gets comfortable between the point that once resembled a living room,” she continued.

‘Here’s a good example: Denz does the laundry. So he washes and dries it, but sorting is too difficult because ‘I don’t know who is what’. Do you think I know? Most of them wear the same size, they steal from each other or trade with each other. It’s a shitty job.’

She added that she is “not the CEO” of the family and that Denim “is not an employee” who can check off when his work is done.

“An employee who gets paid the hell just leaves a note saying, ‘Sorry, I didn’t know who owned what,’ and leaves it to the boss to solve that problem. And I’ll tell you what, I’m so over solving problems,” Constance said.

‘You can’t work a shift and then mentally clock off with ‘let me know if there’s anything I can do for you’.’

The honest rant resonated with hundreds of women who said they too were “tired” of telling their husbands what to do.

‘I write a list every day and leave it on the couch!’ said one.

“Honestly, I really believe we are wired differently because no matter how much I explain and whine, they just don’t see it,” wrote another.

A third added: “And they think it’s fair and magnanimous to say, ‘Just tell me what you want me to do!’ My answer is, “I want you to think and not have to be told.”

Another woman said: ‘If I hear ‘it’s just a man thing’ one more time I’m going to scream! Isn’t growing real people in our bodies enough for humanity? Why can’t men be the ones to do all the ‘household’ chores in life!? Grinds my gears.”
