Milperra crash: Driver of two vehicles in Sydney that left a mother and her three children in hospital was reportedly driving at 140 km/h
The driver of a car that crashed into another car in Sydney’s south-west, seriously injuring a woman and three children, was reportedly traveling at 140km/h at the time, police said.
A total of seven people were taken to hospital after a sedan and an SUV collided at the intersection of Milperra Road and Cooraban Road in Milperra just after 2am on Saturday.
The three children, aged 10, 14 and 15, and a woman in her 40s were trapped in the SUV after the collision and had to be freed by Fire Rescue NSW.
On Sunday afternoon, police claimed the driver of the sedan was spotted by officers traveling at 87mph in a signposted 70mph zone.
“Officers activated lights and sirens just as the sedan collided with a four-wheel drive vehicle,” police said in a statement.

Paramedics were called to a ‘high-speed crash’ at the intersection and took the occupants of the SUV to hospitals in Westmead with serious injuries.

His two passengers, both 18-year-old men, were taken to Liverpool hospital with minor injuries.
While the injuries to the woman and children are considered serious, police say they are not life-threatening.
Photos from the scene on Saturday afternoon show piles of rubble mixed with what appear to be articles of clothing and other trinkets.

A plastic green p-plate could be seen nearby scattered shards of glass and metal.
Police have cordoned off a crime scene and are investigating.
