Cricketer Adam Dale and wife Nickie sell four-bedroom Melbourne home after listing the property for $1.75m

Australian cricketer Adam Dale and his wife Nickie have sold their family home in Melbourne after putting it on the market with a price guide of $1.65 million to $1.75 million.

The sale comes after the couple lived in the four-bedroom property in Eltham, 12 miles northeast of the CBD, for about a decade.

According to real estate.com.auThe house has two living areas and a rumpus room and office downstairs.

The Dales renovated the property and created a welcoming space that balanced private spaces with areas for family gatherings.

Dale, who played two Test matches and 30 One Day Internationals between 1997 and 2000, was also part of the Australian team that won the 1999 Cricket World Cup.

In addition to his international cricket career, he played first-class and List A cricket for the Queensland Bulls and club cricket for several Melbourne teams.

One of his most memorable moments came in the 1997 Mercantile Mutual Cup, where his spectacular one-handed catch to dismiss NSW batsman Phil Emery won him widespread acclaim and the title of cricket’s ‘catch of the century’.

“We love the location and the house gave everyone a chance to have a place to themselves, and then we could come together as a family again,” Dale shared.

He said the suburb’s schools and transport options are expected to attract an increasing number of buyers in the near future.

The couple decided to move to Queensland because of Adam’s work in the furniture industry and to be closer to their eldest daughter and her family.

Although sad to leave their home in Eltham, the Dales are looking forward to this new chapter in their lives.
