Dave Portnoy FUMES at Caitlin Clark’s 2024 Olympics snub as he rips into ‘dumb women’ at Team USA
A furious Dave Portnoy has blasted Team USA’s ‘stupid’ decision-makers amid rumors Caitlin Clark could be left out of the women’s basketball squad for the Olympics.
Despite her record-breaking college success at Iowa and impressive start to her WNBA career with the Indiana Fever, The Athletics claims Clark will not go to Paris with Team USA for this summer’s Olympics.
The 22-year-old is bringing more attention to women’s basketball than ever before as her highly anticipated debut broke ESPN viewership records last month.
Nevertheless, it is believed that there is no place for her on the US Olympic team, which infuriates Portnoy.
The Barstool Sports chief said in an explosive video rant on X: “This is about Caitlin Clark being left off the Olympic team… how stupid are these women?

‘I don’t know who makes the decision: the Women’s Olympic Committee or whatever. I don’t care if you think Caitlin Clark doesn’t belong on this team talent-wise, even though she scored 37 of 13 – the most points in league history for a rookie.
‘None of it matters. These women – and I love women, I’m a pro-women’s man – they complain, they cry about equal rights, equal wages, blah blah blah… Hey dummies, for the first time in the history of basketball, you might have the player who is the most popular player in the world.
“You could say that Caitlin Clark is the most popular basketball player in the world, who spends the most time in the chair. You can argue that. And you’re leaving her off the Olympic team?
“It’s not just a showcase for her, it’s for the sport and the other WNBA players on this team. How stupid, how brain dead, how idiotic must the people running this thing be? With her it goes from one thing to another.’
Portnoy then seemed to take aim at the WNBA chiefs, saying, “The business part of my brain is like, these people — and maybe it’s a man, whoever it is — I never want to hear you complain about commercial flying, or not getting a salary, or this and that… you’re too stupid! You’re too stupid!
“You have a cash cow. Olympic women’s basketball could be the No. 1 thing people are watching with Caitlin Clark.
‘As it is now, I prefer to see grass growing. I prefer to watch the paint dry. I’d rather see the dirt being moved because Caitlin Clark isn’t on the team.

Portnoy has accused ‘stupid women’ of making the decision to leave out the 22-year-old
“You guys, whoever did this, take your brains, put them in a museum and study them, no matter how stupid you are.”
Clark was one of 14 players called up to training camp with Team USA in April, but was unable to attend because it came in the middle of Iowa’s run to the NCAA championship game.
While at Iowa, she became the all-time leading scorer in NCAA Division I basketball. She also became one of the biggest names in American sports.
Clark was subsequently selected by the Fever with the No. 1 overall pick in April’s draft and has averaged 16.8 points on 37.3 percent shooting, 6.3 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game in 12 starts.
She scored a career-high 30 points on 7-of-13 three-point shooting in the Fever’s 85-83 win over the Washington Mystics on Friday night.
However, head coach Cheryl Reeve has reportedly favored experience in her squad as Team USA look to defend their gold in Paris.
