Now that’s a sales pitch! Bosses at Decathlon promise to fully refund festival punters who return their tents rather than abandoning them

  • The offer comes because 250,000 tents end up in landfill during music festivals every year

Festival goers who return their tents rather than leave them behind will receive a full refund, a retailer has promised.

Decathlon bosses are bidding for their most popular tents during the music festival season from now until September 13. About 250,000 tents end up in landfill every year.

The retailer, which has 50 locations nationwide, guarantees a full refund in the form of a gift voucher that you can spend in store, even after use at a festival.
