Air pollution, a significant environmental problem, can negatively impact human health in several ways, including respiratory problems such as coughs and colds.

  4. Eating healthy foods can help strengthen your immune system and fight infections. Choose foods rich in vitamins and minerals, such as fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
  5. Smoking and passive smoking can irritate the airways and worsen cough and cold symptoms. If you smoke, stop. And if you are around someone who smokes, ask them to smoke outside.
