Demi Moore, 61, admits she 'didn't like' being part of the 'Brat Pack' as the label 'downscaled' her early work… ahead of the documentary about the collective of emerging actors from the the 80's

Demi Moore has admitted she 'didn't like' being part of the 'Brat Pack'.

The Ghost star, 61, made an appearance on Wednesday night The late show with Stephen Colbert to discuss the upcoming Andrew McCarthy-led Hulu documentary about The Brat Pack and her feelings about the collective.

The Brat Pack refers to a group of actors who appeared together in coming-of-age films in the 1980s, most of the members most notably appearing in the 1985 John Hughes film The Breakfast Club and the Joel Schumacher film 1985 film St. Elmo's Fire.

The documentary is based on the 2021 book Brat: An '80s Story by Andrew McCarthy, 61 of the Brat Pack, who co-starred with Demi in St. Elmo's Fire alongside Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, Ally Sheedy, Judd Nelson, Mare Winningham and Andie MacDowell.

When asked how she felt about the group, she said, “I mean, it was very new to make stories about young people. I don't think any of us really liked being called the name “snot.” Because it somewhat diminished our sense of professionalism.”

The Ghost star, 61, appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Wednesday night to discuss the upcoming Andrew McCarthy-led Hulu documentary about The Brat Pack and her feelings about the collective.

During an appearance on Good Morning America, Demi discussed the film further: 'Andrew really wanted to explore the impact the film had on each of us, because for him it actually had a big impact. For Rob [Lowe]It just slid off his back…

“For me, I didn't like being looked at as a brat because I thought it made us a little smaller as professionals. But I didn't wear it'.

Demi referred to documentary filmmaker Andrew as 'Andy' on the talk show while talking about the documentary, but quickly corrected herself.

She said, 'Andrew McCarthy! He's going to kill me. This document is an exploration of what and how that has affected each of us. Rob, it just rolled off his back. He's good like that. But for Andrew, it really affected him and the things and choices he made.”

Demi said she hasn't seen the documentary yet and was excited to see the show. She said, “I'm sorry that after all this time we didn't all get a chance to all be in the same room.”

In May, Andrew posted a throwback image of him and Demi standing together at St. Elmo's Fire and a photo from the current day.

He wrote a caption that read: “So great to see (for the first time in years and years) my St. Elmo's Fire co-star, the wonderful Demi Moore, and catch up on my Brat Pack documentary.”

St Elmo's Fire was released in 1985 and became an instant cult classic. It starred Demi's then-boyfriend, Emilio, as well as Ally, Judd and Rob.

In May, Andrew posted a throwback image showing him and Demi's side of St. Elmo's Fire, as well as a photo from the day

“What do you think about when you look back on the years when you guys were first starting out, kind of lumped together as a unit?” Stephen, 59, asked

Also in the cast were model-actress Andie and acclaimed stage actress Mare. Demi played the privileged young woman distracted by drugs and heartbreak. The film was co-written and directed by Joel Schumacher.

Demi was on the CBS talk show for Feud: Capote vs. To promote The Swans, the second season of the Feud anthology series.

She portrays showgirl and socialite Ann Woodward, who clashed with Capote after his unfinished novel Answered Prayers about New York society offended her.

She said: 'He changes the names, but not enough that they don't know. So basically the feud is that they let him into the inner circle even though he was a bit of a court jester for their amusement. And she betrays…

Stephen also asked Demi about her adorable dog Pilaf and she brought the pooch outside

“And so they wanted to crush him. Now my character, Ann Woodward, was never accepted into society. She got married in it. I'm kind of his first target. Because I accidentally killed my husband.”

Stephen asked how she “accidentally” killed her husband and Demi said it was an accidental shooting, but Capote referred to her as “Bang Bang the Murderess” in his segment.

Demi was seen in a clip confronting the writer who said the story was true and that it would be an “interesting” chapter.

Feud: Capote vs. The Swans premiered on FX on Wednesday, and the first two episodes were made available on Hulu the next day.

The eight-episode series is based on the book Capote's Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era by Laurence Leamer.

The series also stars Naomi Watts, Diane Lane, Chloë Sevigny, Treat Williams, fellow Brat Pack member Molly Ringwald and Tom Hollander as Capote.
