THREE FOODS TO EAT MORE OF BY 2024

  1. Protein, especially at breakfast
  2. Non-starchy vegetables
  3. Fiber

Hubert acknowledges that ‘you have to eat less than you burn to lose weight’, but she explains that Not all foods are equal when eating in a calorie deficit.

“There’s no point in eating less if you don’t know what to eat,” she says.

Firstly, the dietitian advises ‘eating more proteins, especially at breakfast’.

She says you should have at least 20 grams of protein with each meal.

“If you’re not an egg girl, you can have protein-rich Greek yogurt,” she suggests.

“You could do overnight oats. Personally, I like to use a vegan protein powder in mine. Whatever you want. They don’t have to be eggs.’

Hubert also recommends adding more non-starchy vegetables, such as broccoli, cauliflower and zucchini.

“Everyone knows that vegetables are very nutritious, but specifically for fat loss and weight loss, non-starchy vegetables will provide a high volume for a low amount of calories,” she explains.

The weight loss expert notes that she likes to mix cauliflower rice with regular rice to make a larger portion without adding too many calories to her meal.

“The third thing you need to eat more of if you’re serious about losing weight is more fiber,” she says.

Hubert recommends choosing “natural carbohydrate sources” such as oats, quinoa, rice, potatoes and beans.
