DJ Khaled and Fat Joe attended rapper Raul Conde’s funeral at a cemetery in Coral Gables, Florida on Monday, just over a week after the Terror Squad artist’s death following a fatal heart attack at the age of 52.

DJ Khaled, 48, was dressed in an all-black ensemble of a short-sleeved button-up top, black pants and sneakers, with sunglasses. He was seen chatting with fellow mourners and sitting next to Fat Joe, 53, during the somber proceedings.

The funeral viewing took place at Van Orsdel Family Funeral Chapels in Coral Gables, while the funeral took place at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn North in Miami, according to a post DJ Khaled shared on Instagram. He captioned the image: “I love you brother.”

He also posted an image of a collection of enormous flower arrangements honoring Conde’s memory, including one with the Terror Squad initials TS.

Other notable names in attendance included rapper Noreaga, 46, and producer Scott Storch, 49.

DJ Khaled, Fat Joe and French Montana were among the hip-hop stars who paid tribute to rapper Raul Conde on social media after news of his death emerged on November 24.

‘My Day 1, how can a man love another man more than your own biological family. You are 1 of the 1 most loyal EVER. We’ve been doing it since we were kids, doing everything we dreamed of. I love you with every fiber of my being,” Joe wrote.

Conde had been a member of Fat Joe’s Bronx rap collective Terror Squad since its inception in 1998.

“I thought we would grow old together and look back at the times we had and laugh. No one understood me as well as you. You were the god who sent my brother. I wish I could have one last conversation with you.”

Former Love & Hip-Hop: New York star Erica Mena also mourned Conde, who shares a child, King, with the late Terror Squad member. On her Instagram Story, Mena posted a photo of Conde and their son together. She wrote in the caption, “My son is officially heartbroken. LIFE IS SO SHORT. PLEASE LOVE YOUR PEOPLE.”

In his tribute, Joe posted numerous photos showing the pair’s close relationship over the years.

Conde was also known for directing videos and was behind the camera for the video for Fat Joe’s crossover hit Lean Back and for the song Take Me Home. Conde also directed the video for MDMA and Lupe Fiasco hit Cupcakin.

In 1998, Joe Conde credited an encounter Terror Squad had with a local gangster during a gig in Bridgeport, Connecticut with saving his life.

When the encounter turned physical, a member of Terror Squad turned a corner, the group was attacked by large numbers of people in a club.

‘When I go for a walk [out], I open the door, this guy is standing in the trunk of a car – this is no exaggeration – and pulls out the silver pistol. Suddenly I see Raul TS. Now Raul has a .22 Derringer, probably the same s**t he had at Morris High School,” Joe said during an Instagram Live session.

The couple’s friend, Joey Crack, agreed.

“So he tells me to stand behind him and all eight of us line up with Raul’s .22. We ended up carjacking two guys, busted them out, boom, busted the whip… We’re getting out of there,” Crack said.

Born in the Bronx, Conde attends the infamous Morris High School in The Bronx with Fat Joe. At the time of his death he was living in Miami. According to his Instagram page, he was an ordained minister.

DJ Khaled was also close with Conde.

In addition to music, Conde was also behind a tequila brand promoted by Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Scott Disick.

In 2007, reality star Erica Mena gave birth to her and Conde’s son, King. Mena has two younger children with her ex-husband and Love and Hip-Hop: New York star Safaree Samuels.

Mena was fired from the show in 2023 after being accused of using racial slurs.

In 2010, a video of Mena attacking Conde went viral. After the clip was distributed, Mena continued publicly accuse Conde that she physically abused her during their relationship together during the 2013 meeting to raise awareness about domestic violence.

A year later, the couple appeared to have resolved their issues when she posted a photo of them taking their son to a Miami Heat game.

“The war is over,” she wrote in the caption.
