Malone, 39, posted a picturesque sunset image to Instagram Stories on Saturday, captioning it “the second to last sunset of 2023!”
Lemon, a fixture on the cable network from 2006 to 2023, said he was fired on April 24, two months after making controversial comments about Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley that he later said he regretted.

At the time, then-CNN chairman and CEO Chris Licht — who himself was fired from the network in June — announced that the network had “parted ways” with Lemon.
Lemon, a recipient of the Edward R. Murrow Award in 2002, then tweeted: “My agent informed me this morning that I have been fired from CNN. I’m stunned.’
He added that “after 17 years at CNN, I would have thought someone in management would have the decency to tell me directly.
“At no time was I given any indication that I would not be able to continue doing the work I love at the network. It is clear that there are bigger problems at play.’
CNN responded by saying the reporter had been “given the opportunity to meet with management” before his resignation.
In a February 16 discussion on CNN This Morning, Lemon told co-hosts Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins that Haley was not “in her prime.”
