Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson issued a brutal correction to the claim that Hollywood stars are all supporting President Biden, noting that they may be “loyal to the (Democratic) Party” but laughing at the assumption that they are Biden fans .

The actor and wrestler, 51, endorsed Biden this week in a conversation with podcast host and frequent Biden critic Joe Rogan, where they had a lighthearted back-and-forth about America’s hostile political divisions.

After stating that he had friends across the political spectrum, Rogan wondered, “Do you really have friends who support Biden?”

“No no no no,” Johnson responded with a laugh, clarifying that Biden has hardly won the hearts and minds of Hollywood’s diehard Democrats.

The Rock spoke about the state of the presidential race at a time of increasing speculation about his own White House ambitions.

In a recent appearance on podcast What Now? with Trevor Noah, Dwayne said: ‘At the end of the year in 2022 I was visited by the parties asking if I was going to run, and if I could run.’

In 2021, a poll also found that nearly half of Americans would support Johnson if he decided to run for president, and he has often floated ideas surrounding a presidential run – including acting in a fictionalized 2032 campaign in his show ‘Young Rock’.

While not known to often wade into more controversial political issues, Johnson spoke to Rogan about the much greater political divisions that have emerged in recent times.

“When I was a kid, you could have a Republican friend like it was no big deal,” Rogan said.

“Like, ‘Oh Bobby likes George Bush, who cares? Who gives a fuck?

“You were a Bill Clinton supporter, he liked George Bush, no one cared. No one said, ‘F*** you!’

“It wasn’t like, ‘You’re a Nazi… What do you mean, I’m a Nazi, I just want lower taxes,’” Rogan joked. ‘How did I become a Nazi?’

Johnson agreed that the decentralization of political acceptance in recent years “is the craziest thing,” and said he has friends with views across the political spectrum.

“I have friends who support Trump, and I have friends who support Biden,” he said.

Rogan quickly interjected, asking, “Do you really have friends who support Biden?” – a question that caused the former WWE Champion to burst into laughter.

“No no no no,” he said, adding: “Thank you, that’s a good check because that’s important, this is an important context.”

“They support the Democratic Party,” Rogan responded on his behalf, as Johnson said, “I have friends who are loyal to the party.”

Johnson’s comments on the state of American politics come as he regularly entertains ideas that he could pursue the presidency but has given no indication as to which party he would seek the nomination for.

In his conversation with Trevor Noah this month, he also declined to say which political parties have approached him about a possible run. He has admitted he was “truly honored” by hypothetical support for a White House bid.

Of the 2021 poll, he said: “That was an interesting poll and I was really moved by it. I was really blown away and I felt really honored.”

“It was a big deal, and it came out of the blue. It followed one after another, and they brought up that poll, and they also brought up their own in-depth research,” he told Noah.

He also ran for president in 2021 after the promising poll first came out, when he said he wants to “unify” America.

Dwayne told Sunday’s TODAY with Willie Geist, “I have that goal to unite our country and I also feel like if this is what the people want, I will do that.”

Losing the support of a Hollywood heavyweight like Johnson could be a bitter blow to Biden’s outlook on his 2024 re-election fight, having already faced several recent polls showing declining support.

This week, a Marquette Law School poll showed the president trailing his predecessor and likely 2024 rival, former President Donald Trump, by a 52-48 margin.

Former UN Ambassador and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley has the largest lead in the poll, dominating the incumbent by 55 points to 45.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who was seen by many as Trump’s biggest challenger in the Republican primaries, leads him 51-49.

A separate poll was conducted in September Washingtonpost Alarm bells went off in the White House after Biden received ten points less than Trump.
