Carrie Ann Inaba was not easy on the Dancing with the stars participants in the final included Charity Lawson – and the audience was not happy.

“Repayment. That was amazing. The way you danced that with passion and the connection between you and Artem [Chigvintsev]. I could feel it the whole time,” Inaba, 55, said during the Tuesday, December 5, season finale. “This is the final and I have to mention everything I see. I saw something that looked like it might have been a mistake and I honestly don’t know, but I have to mention it to be honest, but it was definitely what I asked for.

As she gave her feedback, the crowd erupted in boos for Inaba, who passionately disagreed with her position. Meanwhile fellow judge Derek Hough seemingly disagreed that there was a misstep and had nothing but praise for Lawson’s skills.

“That was the best dance of the night so far in my opinion,” Hough, 38, said. “That was fascinating, intense. It was so strong and so intense. That is a dance I would like to see in the final.”

As Inaba watched Lawson and Chigvintsev, 41, during rehearsals, she gave feedback — which the reality star appreciated.

Lawson ultimately received a total of 29 for the dance: two 10s from Hough and Bruno Tonioli next to a 9 from Inaba. “Sorry,” she said before holding up her paddle.

Last month, Inaba admitted that she was the only female judge on the court DWTS panel faces a large number of challenges.

“As the only female judge for most seasons, I get a lot more hate than the men,” she said during the Variety Women Of Reality TV event in November. “I am the judge who is crying, yes that is true,” Inaba said as she burst into tears. “People doubt what I say. … I feel like I have to fight harder to have my opinion respected.”
