Emily Atack is pregnant! The Inbetweeners star announces she’s expecting her first child… after she was spotted chatting to a hunky nuclear scientist

Emily Atack has announced she is pregnant and is ‘over the moon’ to become a mother in the new year.

The actress, 34, is five months pregnant and is expecting her firstborn in April 2024.

Although they have not been made public, Emily is believed to be dating nuclear scientist Dr Alistair Garner, and the pair have set up a house together as they prepare for the baby’s arrival.

Announcing the happy news on Saturday, she wrote on Instagram: ‘Hi everyone, it’s been a while but I’m back with some news. I’m happy to share with you that we are having a baby!!

‘I have never been so happy and terrified at the same time. Please go easy on me.

‘Every day is mixed with excitement, fear, joy, hysteria, topped off with lots of vomiting – a bit like when you’ve just stepped out of Oblivion at Alton Towers with a hangover.

‘I got to know my body on such an insane level. It has made me appreciate the one I was given so much. I do my very best to make it a home for the little squid I raise.

‘We can already feel the baby lying on a mattress with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and asking for more chocolate chips.

“I’m so happy to be able to write all this to all of you. You have always stuck with me through the years, please stick around to see how I entered my motherhood era. Christ. Let’s go.’

A friend told me The sun: ‘Emily is delighted about the happy news and is happy to tell family and close friends about her little one on the way.

‘It’s the perfect end to her year and she feels on cloud nine.

‘Emily is more than ready to become a mother and it is something she has dreamed of all her life. Her relationship with Alistair has gone from strength to strength and they have started living together.

‘Family is everything to her – she comes from a large family and is very close to all her brothers and sisters – so she can’t wait to start one of her own. They have all rallied around her and are happy for the joyful occasion.”

The star shone as she walked the streets of the British capital with Alistair, who describes himself on LinkedIn as a materials scientist and electron microscopist specializing in nuclear and space applications.

The pair were spotted walking hand in hand through the city as they enjoyed the sunny day before settling into a cafe together.

An onlooker told it The sun: ‘Emily was deep in conversation with Alistair. She drank a cocktail and Alistair ordered a beer. Emily seemed to be enjoying herself and couldn’t stop smiling. As they left, they held hands.”

Emily has been single since splitting from her former Big Brother star and ex-tree surgeon boyfriend Liam McGough last year.
