How can I get a McDonald's Big Mac and fries for £2.99?

You will need a previous McDonald's receipt from a visit no more than 60 days old.

If you don't have one, you can just quickly buy a cheap item and get a coupon.

A 12-digit code will be printed on it and then all you have to do is go to the McDonald's “Food for Thought” website and complete a short survey about your recent trip.

You will then receive a five-digit code, which is your voucher for the €2.99 offer.

The code can be used at any McDonald's branch to get a Big Mac and fries for £2.99.

Don't forget to print your receipt if you order at a self-service kiosk.

You can find your nearest McDonald's using the search function on the website.

Can I exchange a €2.99 Big Mac for a Filet-O-Fish or a Vegetable Deluxe?

If a Big Mac isn't your thing, you can opt for a Filet-O-Fish or a Vegetable Deluxe instead.

If you want, you can also swap the fries for a salad.

Both combinations still cost just €2.99 with the code.

There is no minimum spend required to get the 12-digit code, so technically you could buy the cheapest item on the menu and still get the discount.

Customers can use the offer multiple times, but each code only allows you to redeem one Big Mac and fries, so you'll need a different coupon each time.

The fast food giant also said the codes can be tracked to prevent fraudulent activity, so you can't just write five random numbers on your receipt.

You have 60 days from the time you receive a receipt to claim your voucher. You will then need a new receipt with a new 12-digit code.

Once you have your five-digit code, you will be given a new personal expiration date on which to use it.

Don't forget to ask for the receipt and keep it safe as without the receipt you cannot claim the deal.
