Exhibition, activities around LiFE themes: A national exhibition and program of eco-friendly activities on the themes of LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) will be organized at India Gate, New Delhi on February 9 and 10.

LiFE is an Indian-led global movement that encourages individuals to take simple yet effective eco-friendly actions in their daily lives. The event will highlight how young people can inspire behavior change that leads to individual and collective action towards an environmentally conscious lifestyle.

The LiFE themes are 'saving energy and water', 'reducing waste', 'adopting sustainable food systems', 'healthy lifestyle' and 'saying no to single-use plastic'. Some examples of LiFE actions include using bicycles for short commutes, turning off taps when not actively in use, consuming locally available food, using natural or organic products, planting trees, reducing waste and separating wet and dry waste at home.

The event's activities include a bicycle rally, which symbolizes the convenience and significance of environmentally friendly and healthy means of transportation. The rally takes the scenic route around India Gate. Bicycles are made available to participants; participants can also bring their bicycles. This will be followed by a vibrant cultural show, with thought-provoking street plays aimed at sensitizing people on the need for environmental conservation and environmentally responsible behavior.

For those with an artistic flair, a face painting and poster making competition will be held on site, allowing participants to express their environmental messages in colorful and creative ways. There will also be demonstration models available that show in detail how the various LiFE themes can be put into practice.

And don't miss the “eco-fashion show”, a catwalk event about sustainable and environmentally conscious clothing, showing that fashion can be both stylish and environmentally friendly.

The cultural events also allow visitors to immerse themselves in the vibrant tapestry of our country's rich culture, celebrating how nature and society can coexist and thrive harmoniously.
