Shocking moment feud between neighbors explodes into deadly violence as one man shoots another 14 times as their wives scream in the background

A long-standing feud between neighboring families exploded when a man was shot dead by his neighbor during a fight over a water sprinkler in a luxury condominium in Costa Rica.

Otoniel Orozco, a 53-year-old father of five from Nicaragua, was shot at least fourteen times in front of their homes Monday morning by 43-year-old Eduardo Ramírez.

Tensions flared after Ramírez’s wife left her home to turn on the sprinkler on her property and challenged Orozo to turn it off.

The woman told Orozco, “I’ll wait here for you to come and turn off the sprinkler, you idiot.”

Orozco’s wife then stepped out of the apartment and told Ramírez’s husband, “You worry a lot too,” and accused her family of being jealous.

A war of words ensued as both women continued to berate each other.

Orozco and his wife can be seen approaching the couple as they continued to argue about the sprinkler.

Both women then came face to face before Orozco punched Ramírez, who responded by pulling a gun from under his shirt and shooting his neighbor.

He continued to fire his weapon while Orozco lay on the ground. Ramírez’s wife intervened, grabbed him by the neck and pulled him away as Orozco’s wife screamed in horror.

Ramírez’s father told Costa Rican online news portal La Teja that the disagreement between the two families stemmed from a construction that destroyed the walls of his son’s home.

“This situation is from four years ago, when the deceased man started building some bedrooms where he didn’t have to build them, and then my son said to him: ‘Look, Don Otoniel, you are breaking my walls, my property,'” said Ramirez’s father. “And the guy went on a rampage and started treating him like an asshole. The problem started there.’

Orozco’s sister-in-law, Dayli Avendaño, told news channel CR Hoy that Ramírez had threatened the family several times and that police never responded to their reports.

“He used to spy on my brother-in-law when he got up and went to the garage, so he would harass him, insult him and close the door on him,” she said. ‘He would threaten my sister, he would bother the children, harass them, provoke them in a thousand ways so that Otoniel would react.

Ramírez is being investigated for aggravated murder and was placed in pre-trial detention for three months.
