Vera is a flight attendant from Boston who regularly brags about her daily life to her more than 18,000 followers on TikTok.

She recently shared her thoughts on a unique situation that occurred while she was at work, when a friend tried to mend his girlfriend’s feelings by having Vera say he was sorry over the speaker.

And while the content creator thought it was a sweet gesture, people on the internet were divided as they criticized the man for making a “spectacle” about a serious situation.

“I had a funny experience during my flight yesterday,” she said at the beginning of the video.

Vera then said that a ‘tall’ young man came to her and asked for a favor.

She explained that the “attractive man” said he had a “weird question.”

“He says, ‘So my girlfriend is sitting in the front of the plane, she’s super mad at me right now.

“Is there any way you would be willing to make an announcement when we land and say, Sarah, Eric is really, really sorry and he’s looking forward to having a great weekend with you?”

“I was excited, I thought it was cute,” Vera said.

Vera noted that although she asked what happened, the anonymous man did not reveal any details about their argument.

“I thought it was cute, but I guess it depends on the situation. For me, that would work for me,” she said, before noting that her colleague was unimpressed by the gesture and said it seemed like the friend was making a “spectacle” of their argument.

At the end of the segment, the flight attendant asked whether viewers would be “impressed” by the announcement or whether it would make them “even crazier.”

People flooded the comments, with many of them fiercely divided over whether or not they would appreciate the gesture.

Many people applauded the flight attendant and said they would love it if their partner did the same.

One person said: ‘Even super mad at him, something like that would soften me up and make me smile (while blushing and rolling my eyes!’)

Someone else commented: ‘Seems like an innocent and fun way to apologize for a little fight. Hard to believe there are people hateful enough to just say no.”

Another person added: ‘It’s the thought that counts. The feeling doesn’t necessarily go away, but it’s a nice gesture.”

“I feel like I think it’s cute but my anxiety isn’t letting me make the PA but also…I feel like I need her side first lol,” someone else said.

‘Absolute!’ said someone else.

However, other people on social media have criticized the boyfriend, claiming that they would be embarrassed if their partner pulled such a stunt.

One person said: ‘Madder! The whole plane doesn’t need to know about my business.’

Another user wrote: ‘That’s the equivalent of buying a woman flowers to apologize. Flowers are only there for no reason/happy times…I wouldn’t do it.’

“It seems manipulative to me,” said one.

“I would be ashamed,” another added.

One user added: ‘I would hate that! I would be so ashamed and feel like a refugee.’
