Food Network star Jeffrey “Duff” Goldman was rushed to the hospital last Thursday after he was injured in a car accident while driving from an airport back to his home in Topanga, California.

The 49-year-old pastry chef's dominant right hand was 'crushed' in the collision on a 'windy country road' and required stitches.

“I'm doing well, but it will be a long road to recovery,” Duff – who has 3.1 million social media followers – revealed on Instagram last Saturday.

“And for someone like me, who makes a living with my hands, you can imagine this is no joke.”

Goldman's injury literally prevented him from baking a cake for his daughter Josephine's third birthday (she technically turned three on January 31).

The Children's and Family Emmy Award nominee blamed the accident on “a drunk driver” who “went into his lane” and — while they were also hospitalized — it's unclear if they were arrested for drunken driving.

“There is no excuse for driving drunk,” Duff wrote.

'No. Uber, taxi, call a friend. No excuses. Stay safe friends, count your blessings. If you drink, don't drive and if you drive, don't drink.'

Goldman told me later People that the other driver was “stumbling around” at the scene and when he went over to check if everything was okay, “I smelled his breath and I was like… Man, I was pretty angry.”

The Bake It 'Til You Make It presenter – who almost cut off his little finger while carving a pumpkin at the age of seven – sneered at the outlet: 'My daughter almost didn't have a father because this man was stupid.'

Duff 'has been hugging my family a lot' since the crash: 'I think it's making them sick. I keep saying, 'Come here. Give me a hug real quick.'”

Goldman and his wife Johnna just celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary on January 19.

The Detroit-born, LA-based foodie's post received supportive comments from actress Haylie Duff, celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito, Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli, Family Dinner host Andrew Zimmern, The Kitchen co-hosts Jeff Mauro and Sunny Anderson, and BIRD Bakery founder Elizabeth Kamers.

Duff – who signed signed a multi-year deal with the Food Network last September – currently co-hosting the 12th season of Kids Baking Championship with Valerie Bertinelli, which airs on Mondays.

Goldman's relationship with the Warner Bros. brand. Discovery got its start in 2006 when he hosted the hit show Ace of Cakes, which took place at his bakery Charm City Cakes in Baltimore.
