FriendlyJordies firebombing: Second man with alleged bikie links charged over fire at YouTuber’s Bondi home

A second man will appear in court over the alleged firebombing of a YouTuber’s home.

The 37-year-old man was reportedly driving a getaway vehicle used in the attack on the home of Jordan Shanks-Markovina, also known as “FriendlyJordies.”

He has been charged with destroying property in a business and participating in a criminal group. He is due to appear in Parramatta Local Court on Friday.

Emergency services responded to a house fire in Bondi, in Sydney‘s east, in November 2022, when the property and an adjacent home were significantly damaged.

Police said the incident appeared to be related to another fire reported at the property days earlier. No one was inside at the time of the attack.

It is alleged that the man appearing in court on Friday is a member of an outlaw motorcycle gang, police say.

Another man, Tufi Junior Tauese-Auelua, was charged in December with two counts of destroying or damaging a property by fire and will appear in court later in June.

In February, Shanks-Markovina released an audio statement on his YouTube account, saying that people in a video he made were “again threatening dire consequences” if the video was not removed.

“Given the colorful history of these people, we do not view these as idle threats,” Shanks-Markovina said in December.

“You win, we’ll take the video down, congratulations, you run this city,” he said.

He had previously successfully settled a lawsuit with former NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro after the ex-politician YouTube owner Google sued over videos published by Shanks-Markovina wrongly accuses him of corruption.
