'Ganesh Pujan' is held on day 3 of the pre-Aries temple consecration rituals

New Delhi: 'Ganesh Pujan' and 'Varun Pujan' will be held on Thursday as part of the rituals being performed ahead of the January 22 ordination ceremony at the Ram temple here, a priest said. The idol of Ram Lalla was brought into the sanctum sanctorum of the temple on Wednesday evening, while a 'Kalash Pujan' was held earlier in the day. The rituals began on Tuesday and Champat Rai, general secretary of the Ram temple, said they will continue till January 21.

“The idol of Ram Lalla has been kept in the sanctum sanctorum but has not yet been 'virajmaan' (installed). There is a technical problem and engineers will look into it,” priest Arun Dixit told PTI.

“Today the idol will be cleansed with water as part of the 'Jaladhivas' ritual and 'Ganesh Pujan' and 'Varun Pujan' will be held,” he added.

He said 121 priests will be given puja duties and there will also be a 'Vastu Puja' outside the sanctum sanctorum on the temple premises.

The Ram Temple 'Pran Pratishtha' will start on January 22 at 12:20 PM and is expected to end at 1:00 PM. On the day of consecration, the minimum essential rituals required for the 'Pran Pratishtha' of the idol of Ram Lalla will be performed. .
