The VERY lavish life of the Garrett Popcorn heiress: Fashion influencer daughter of iconic Chicago food owners becomes an online sensation flaunting her WILDLY pricey hauls

The heiress of the multimillion-dollar food company Garrett Popcorn has become an online sensation for flaunting her extremely jet-set lifestyle and wildly pricey shopping hauls. 

Hannah Chody Milburn, 31, who is originally from Chicago, Illinois, but now splits her time between Austin, Texas, and New York City, has taken over the internet by sharing a glimpse into the many glamorous perks that come with being the daughter of a top business mogul.

Her TikTok account is filled with get-ready-with-me-type videos, clips of her showcasing some of her latest fashion finds, inside looks into her exquisite closet, and reviews of popular beauty products – and she has gained a whopping 115,000 followers and 5.4 million likes across her videos. 

In one TikTok, she shares some of her ‘favorite purchases’ from 2023, which included a pair of $980 Khaite crocodile-effect leather boots, a $4,700 red purse from Chanel, and a Hermes Kelly 25 handbag.

For the latter, Hermes is famous for keeping its prices a secret, but similar bags are being resold online for $30,000.

On her Instagram, where she has nearly 24,000 followers, she often posts snaps that show her enjoying lavish vacations, staying in five-star resorts, and dining in top restaurants.

Over the years, she’s jetted off to numerous envious places including Hong Kong, Denmark, the south of France, Paris, Amsterdam, London, Switzerland, Greece, Thailand, South Africa, and Hawaii, among other places.

She also regularly visits Lake Como in Italy, Cabo San Lucas in Mexico, and the stunning Deer Valley Resort in Utah.

So how is she able to live such a charmed life? Well, Hannah’s dad Lance Chody purchased Garrett Popcorn from the Garrett family – who founded the company in 1949 – for about $7 million in 2005.

While Garrett Popcorn was undoubtedly already a Chicago staple when Lance took over, he helped transformed it into a worldwide phenomenon.

There were just four shops, all in Chicago, when the Chody family bought Garrett Popcorn in the early 2000s, and there’s now a whopping 50 locations across the globe – including Atlanta, New York, Las Vegas, Madrid, Tokyo, Singapore, and Dubai.

‘Lance understood the love of Garrett was so huge, and saw the opportunity to share the experience with more people,’ his wife and Hannah’s mom, Megan, who serves as the director of consumer engagement for the brand, gushed to Time Out in 2019.

In the years since Lance became the CEO, the company has also caught the attention of numerous celebrities, like Conan O’Brien, who kept Garrett Popcorn in the green room of his show Conan, and Oprah Winfrey, who has included the snack on her annual Favorite Things list three times.

It is also the official popcorn of the Chicago Sky women’s professional basketball team. 

In 2022, it was reported that Garrett Popcorn’s revenue had reached $50 million.

Hannah – the oldest of Lance and Megan’s three daughters – grew up in a stunning five-bedroom mansion in the Lake Forest area of Chicago, Illinois. 

The spacious abode, which was purchased by her parents in 2002 for $2.8 million, sits on 1.3 acres of property. 

It boasts a gym, golf simulation room, game room, wine cellar (which is accessed by an underground walkway), and a chef’s kitchen with a butler’s pantry, among other things.

The couple sold the house for $4.72 million in August 2022, per The Real Deal, and it’s unclear where they live now. 

According to her LinkedIn, Hannah graduated from the University of Southern California in 2015 with a degree in science and business administration. 

She previously worked as a recruiting assistant for USC’s football team, before landing a job at Goldman Sachs as a securities analyst.

She worked her way up the ranks at the company, becoming an associate and eventually a vice president.

In 2021, she left the investment banking firm to work for Garrett Popcorn as the vice president of directional strategies.

She was promoted in August to the head of corporate strategy and e-commerce. 

Hannah started dating her now-husband, Chad Milburn, in 2016, who is the founder of the investment firm Cosmos Ventures.

They got engaged in November 2020 during a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

He got popped the question after they enjoyed a lunch at the luxurious Waldorf Astoria resort.

‘Still at a loss for words. Chad is the kindest, most thoughtful, selfless, and loving human ever,’ Hannah gushed on Instagram afterwards, while sharing some snaps from his romantic proposal. ‘How lucky am I?’

In 2021, the couple headed to the celebrity-loved Amangiri resort in Utah to celebrate his birthday. 

Amangiri has hosted the likes of Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Ivanka Trump, Miley Cyrus, Hailey and Justin Bieber, Emily Ratajkowski, Ariana Grande, Brad Pitt, and Angelina Jolie, among others, since it opened in 2009.

It was also the site of recent internet sensation Madelaine Brockway’s bachelorette party. 

It’s located on 600-acres of land in the heart of the Utah desert, and offers breathtaking views, supreme privacy, lavish amenities (like the 25,000-square-foot spa, steam room, sauna, plunge pool, and yoga studio), delicious food, and a slew of opulent services along with its elegant accommodations.

The hotel has 34 suites that range in price, starting at $3,200 for the lowest and $6,600 for the highest – as well as a separate four-bedroom private home, which doesn’t list its price on the website. 

It should come as no surprise that when Hannah and Chad tied the knot in July 2022, they pulled out all the stops for their wedding.

They exchanged vows at the stunning Villa Balbiano on the shore of Lake Como in Italy.

To celebrate, the couple threw a multi-day celebration that involved numerous parties.

And when she walked down the aisle, Hannah donned a custom-made Danielle Frankel strapless wedding gown.

Their honeymoon was in South Africa, where they of course stayed in one of the the top resorts, called Singita.
