Legendary comedian George Lopez walks out on sold-out crowd early over hecklers – but fans say he totally overreacted

Comedian George Lopez reportedly walked out, ending his recast California show performance early due to troublesome audience members.

The 63-year-old performed at the Eagle Mountain Casino in Porterville, but ended the show about 30 minutes before the scheduled time due to disruptions.

The venue, which can accommodate 2,000 people, was unveiled in a Facebook reports that Lopez hired his own private security for Friday’s show and was reportedly able to have one of the hecklers escorted out.

They also stated that the organizers had a pre-show meeting to formulate a plan against the hecklers and that they were disappointed with Lopez’s team for not allowing them to handle the situation.

‘We had a meeting before the show to come up with a plan for the disruption. He could have given us the opportunity to have our security and team escort any troublemakers out as his own private security did not do so. George decided not to continue the show and leave.”

But Lopez’s team has denied the venue’s claims, saying that “the casino staff was unable to provide the performer and guest with a safe and enjoyable experience.”

“It is the job of the venue or casino to provide a good experience for both the artist and the fans, but the casino failed in this regard.

“The crowd was overprotective and unruly, and the casino staff was unable to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for the performer and guests.

“George’s personal security team worked with site security staff to maintain order, ensure safety and remove disruptive individuals from the building. Unfortunately, the casino security team was not enough to accomplish this task.

‘George is not obliged to perform in an unsafe environment. He is sad that those who came to watch the show were unable to do so as a result.”

Although the hecklers have not yet been identified, other onlookers have expressed their disappointment and anger on social media.

‘We were having such a great time, eating delicious food, gambling, laughing, and suddenly it was over so quickly. Everyone was in shock,” one viewer wrote on the venue’s post.

While another said: ‘This is the second time I’ve rearranged my schedule to see him and I was completely let down. I grew up watching him and looked forward to the chance to see him live. Definitely the last time I paid to see him.’

One furious audience member revealed: ‘I am shocked! He was so disrespectful in the language he used as he prepared to walk away. What gave him that freedom to insult everyone in that room?

“His security should have dealt with the heckler… he should have shown professionalism. He must compensate his audience.’

‘My husband and I drove 2 hours after work. My husband is a big fan. We paid over $500.00 in hotels just because he rescheduled. It was shocking and I was concerned about safety as he walked off stage and people were upset,” said one disheartened viewer.

One member also noted that the bickering was “very minor,” writing, “I was there. My husband and I traveled an hour to get there, after having to turn around last month when it was canceled. From where I sat, the bickering was very minor. He might as well have talked about them or had them escorted out.

‘Most of us were just in shock and thought it was a joke and that he would come out again. He can certainly dish out the insults, but he can’t bear them himself (if they can even be called insults). Crazy stuff.’

The sold-out show, originally scheduled to take place on April 20, was rescheduled to May 7 due to a medical emergency.
