GERWYN PRICE has labeled the conditions at Players Championship 1 as “pathetic”.
The Welshman withdrew from the PDC tournament in Wigan halfway through his match against Brendan Dolan.
Price, 38, had already beaten the likes of Karel Sedlacek and Matthew Dennant before the third round.
Despite appearing to be in good form, he decided to call it quits as he trailed 4–2 against Dolan.
Price took to social media to explain his withdrawal, while slamming the 'amateur' conditions at the Robin Park Tennis Centre.
He wrote: 'Absolutely pathetic conditions.
“Travel all the way to Wigan to play in a professional match and we have to play in less than amateur conditions.
“I've never given up on a match.
'Well, I'll take that to tomorrow too.
“I'm gutted because my game today was really good and I'm so dependent on these events.”
