The ACP said the accused men then dropped her off at the same place they picked her up, adding that the minor somehow managed to get home but did not reveal the ordeal to her family.
However, the incident came to light when the girl’s health deteriorated the next day and after her mother inquired, she narrated the horrific ordeal to her parents. Initially, the victim’s mother tried to search for the suspect herself, but eventually approached the police and filed a complaint on December 12.
When questioned, the girl revealed that one of the suspects had deformities in all ten fingers due to a condition that made it easier to hold the suspect, police said.
After his arrest, one of the suspects, Nizam, was taken to the crime scene to recreate the incident. However, he grabbed a police officer’s gun and opened fire on the police in an attempt to flee. Police retaliated and Nizam suffered bullet injuries in both legs, an official said.
