My Golden Retriever puppy ruined my furniture when I went away for the night, but I think it's funny
A mischievous dog destroyed his owner's sofa with muddy paws as they enjoyed a night out.
Hayley Richey, from South Brighton, Adelaide, returned from an overnight trip to be welcomed home with a mud disaster by her crafty dog Remi.
The nine-month-old Golden Retriever was left alone with a sitter and decided to give Hayley a welcome gift.
It turns out the pet sitter accidentally forgot to lock the door, allowing Remi to rearrange the furniture with her muddy paws.
Despite the mess, Hayley remained calm and responded with “genuine laughter.”
Hayley Richey, from South Brighton, Adelaide, came home to find her sofa destroyed and her living room covered in mud by her Golden Retriever, Remi.
Hayley said: 'I was away for the night so my puppy had a sitter, the door was accidentally left open and there was an unexpected storm.'
The nine-month-old pup soon discovered that the door was unlocked and went straight to the cream-colored couch.
But Remi was seemingly oblivious to the mud that coated his paws and ended up on the furniture.
First, the Golden Retriever left mudslides all over the wooden floor.
But the real disaster was the dirt that spread across the sofa and seemed beyond repair.
Not only was the couch broken, but there were muddy paw prints on the cushions.
There was so much mud all over the sofa that Hayley herself got muddy after briefly touching it.
Remi's cuddly toy was also smeared with mud and left on the dirty couch.

Hayley had hired a pet sitter to care for Remi while she was away, but the sitter accidentally forgot to lock the door, allowing Remi to make the mess
As a result, Remi sneaked into the living room with muddy paws and redecorated the furniture with dirt
But nine-month-old Remi seemed completely unaware of her creation.
Then Remi went to the bedroom and spread her paws over the bed and made even more of a mess.
Completely oblivious to the damage she had just caused, the puppy lay down on Hayley's bed.
In one photo, Hayley cupped Remi's face in her hand, and she looked very pleased with herself.
Fortunately, Hayley saw light in the messy situation.
After making a serious mess in the living room, the Golden Retriever went to the bedroom to relax on the bed
Luckily, Hayley opted for a wooden floor instead of carpet, allowing her to wipe away Remi's muddy paw prints
Despite the furniture being destroyed, Hayley said she can't blame little Remi as it's in her nature

The owner took a relaxed approach and chuckled at Remi's attempt to decorate the furniture with mud.
But while Remi had fun, Hayley acknowledged that it came at her expense.
Nevertheless, she concluded that you can't blame a dog for creating a mess because that's in his nature.
She said: 'My reaction was genuine laughter at the thought of how much fun she was having at my expense.'
The owner concluded: 'Dogs will be dogs and she really seized this opportunity.'
