It's easy to assume that the grass is greener elsewhere, but this isn't always the case.

If you've seen documentaries about lavish weddings and mega-rich boxer Tyson Fury, you might assume that most travelers live very luxurious lives.

While it may seem glamorous to outsiders, the reality for those within the community is very different.

Influencer Charlotte Ann grew up in the marginalized group and uses Tiktok to dispel many of the myths that the rural (non-Gypsy) population has.

Using her platform as a force for change, the content creator has gained nearly 160,000 followers with her regular videos about cultural differences.

In fact, she's so eager to challenge the stereotypes that she recently stopped to shoot a video in a grocery store parking lot.

The Tiktok star made a joke about religion, gesturing to a Rolls Royce and joking: “What people think you drive when you tell them you're a gypsy.”

She then cheekily pointed to a standard family car and said, “Compared to what we actually drive.”

Like most of us right now, the influencer admitted she'd be happy with some extra cash — especially with the cost of living continuing to rise.

“I don't know where this idea comes from that travelers and gypsies have a lot of it moneymaybe some do,” she told her followers, adding: “But I'm so poor, if I get £20 I think I'm rich.”

Not content with getting her point across, the influencer then held up her Crocs and admitted to fans that they were her “mode of transportation.”

“I don't even have a driver's license,” Charlotte laughed as she struggled to put her shoe back on in the parking lot.

While the tongue-in-cheek Tiktok poked fun at people's assumptions, there was a serious point behind her video.

Despite increasing cooperation between the community and outsiders, deeply negative stereotypes about Gypsies still exist.

Hearing about their alleged lack of taxes and work, Charlotte told her followers: “I don't understand where this comes from, that travelers are so rich because they don't pay their taxes…I pay my taxes too. [and] living in Oxfam.”

It's not the first time the content creator has hit back at the damaging myth, having previously revealed she worked full-time in the health and social sector.

She also emphasized that most Gypsy women had worked for centuries so that they could afford basic necessities like everyone else.

In another pointed video, she told viewers: “The concept of work is not a modern aspect of the Traveler and Gypsy community; it has been going on since the beginning of time, with the women.”

The 30-year-old is also unmarried and relies on her own income to support her so-called 'bouje' lifestyle.

She even encouraged others to do the same in another viral clip, saying, “I'm living a really good life at home, and one day, if there's a man good enough to get Queen Boujie and put a ring on it, it will happen.

“But until that day, I'm going to live my best life, and I encourage you to do the same.”

We completely agree, Charlotte.
