A self-confessed clumsy bride accidentally smashed her very expensive wedding cake when she knocked it to the floor, with the hilarious moment caught on camera.
Briana Dutton, 28, of Sydney, had been trying to cut a second piece of the $350 cake when it fell to the floor and shattered.
The newlywed says she saw the moment play out in slow motion and was later told to yell “it’s buttercream” in the second moment.
Fortunately, Briana and her husband, Taylor Dutton, 30, who works in HR, didn’t let the incident ruin their day and were able to continue enjoying the party.
The staff were still able to scrape off a layer that hadn’t touched the ground to serve to the diners – who all said it was ‘delicious’.

The couple saw the funny side of the situation and thought it was hilarious, especially when Briana heard what she yelled as it fell
Despite the cake mishap, Briana and Taylor said it was the best day of their lives and “absolutely perfect”
Briana, an executive assistant, from Sydney, Australia, said, ‘Everyone would say I’m clumsy.
‘The hall had put the cake on a cake stand and I stuck the knife in to cut the second piece.
“I think the cake was too heavy for the stand and when I put the knife down the cake slipped.
“I saw it happen in slow motion. It lay in pieces on the floor.
“Everyone came running to scrape cake off the floor, but everyone laughed.
“They said I yelled ‘his buttercream’ when he fell.”
Briana said that after cutting the cake, she and Taylor immediately started their first dance and forgot about the moment until she saw slices of cake being handed out.
She said, “I was shocked when I thought ‘that’s on the floor,’ but they had cut the top layer that hadn’t touched the ground.”
Luckily for the hilarious posterity, the couple’s photographer, Alex Marks, was able to capture the entire moment as the cake hit the floor.
Briana said, “They’re my favorite photos from the wedding. They are so real. I just adore them.
“Everyone said ‘of course it happened to you’, I just couldn’t believe it happened.”

It’s not the first time the blundering bride has been red-faced after getting into trouble at her bachelorette party – when she tripped and ripped her dress at her bum.
She said: ‘I fell down the stairs, the back of my whole dress ripped.
My whole butt was exposed. My friends used my mini veil and pinned it like a bunny tail on my buttocks.’
Despite the disasters, Briana said her wedding day was “perfect.”
She said, “It really was the best day of my life.”
