This is the hilarious moment a woman had to chase her car into the driveway after failing to properly apply her handbrake.

Vicky Lane, 23, had just arrived home from a long day at work on January 2, but as soon as she left her Audi Q2 it started rolling forward.

The account manager was shocked and did her utmost to prevent the car from rolling onto the road. She almost knocked down a fence in the process.

Vicky, from Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, said: ‘I was just thinking should I run with it or jump on it!

“The only thing going through my mind was my dad telling me to stop if I crashed again.”

Luckily, Vicky managed to stop the car before it crashed straight into a wall at the end of the journey and she was fortunately not injured by the events.

She added, “I wasn’t hurt! Just my ego!’

Vicky also admitted that this had happened to her twice before. This happened once in the parking lot of a supermarket.

Electronic parking brakes are becoming increasingly common in the latest cars.

Analysis of the regular new models on sale in showrooms at the end of 2022 showed that only 13 percent had a traditional handbrake.

This conventional part will become a forgotten part in vehicles before the end of this decade, which will be accelerated by the shift to electric vehicles (EVs), which are mainly equipped with electronic parking brakes, such as those of Lane’s Audi Q2 crossover .

Most of the remaining 87 percent of new cars at dealerships were found to have electronic parking brakes, which experts warn are much more expensive to repair if they fail.
