The annual Christmas Jumper Day campaign has raised £35 million for children around the world and millions of people across the country are expected to take part on Thursday.

Since 2012, the charity has raised more than £35 million for children in Britain and around the world, calling on Brits across the country to wear their best woolen clothes for the day.

Last year, more than 3 million people took part in Christmas Jumper Day, raising a whopping £5 million for children around the world.

The TV and radio stars all wore second-hand jumpers for the fundraising project.

Holly said: ‘Christmas Jumper Day is a really fantastic way to raise lots of money for Save the Children and it’s so easy to get involved!

‘On December 7, just put on your favorite Christmas jumper and donate £2.

“You don’t even need a new sweater to participate, you can dig out an old knit you’ve had for years or go to a thrift store and find a cool vintage one.”

Holly put on a brave face despite the difficult circumstances she has faced in recent months.

Holly, who originally joined the This Morning team in 2009, left the show ‘for the sake of her family’ after discovering she was the target of a foiled kidnap and murder plot.

It came five months after Philip Schofield’s departure after his affair with a young male showrunner was made public, followed by claims of an increasingly strained relationship with his co-host.

Holly was pulled from presenting the ITV show in October, just before it went on air, after police alerted bosses to the alleged plot.

Just hours earlier, she shared a candid post on her blog Wylde Moon about dealing with anxiety.

The message, shared on her Wylde Moon account, said: ‘If you or someone you love suffers from anxiety, you know how difficult it can be to cope.

She remained under police guard in her home after news of the plot emerged.

To take part in Christmas Jumper Day 2023, put on your favorite sustainable jumper on Thursday 7 December and donate £2 (or £1 for children) to Save the Children.

All funds raised will help some of the most disadvantaged children around the world, including Britain, to access food, healthcare and education.
