‘I have been busy. Finish a play and then immediately go to another theater for a new hip. My second in six years, and thank goodness I had the same brilliant surgeon and his team,” she said.

‘I hate the drugs, but love the rehab. I’m 3 weeks post-op, recovery is going well and I’ve had the most brilliant support from my family, my workplace and my wonderful friends. I’m just practicing patience now while I heal…so I can get back to work, baby.”

Her famous friends quickly took to the comments section to share messages of support with the actress during her recovery.

MAFS’ dating coach Mel Schilling commented, “Ooh, sending you lots of love and hip power, baby. Get them to rehab!”

While Packed to the Rafters star Hugh Sheridan said: ‘Hip hip hurray!! Soon we will be bending and stretching together again at the kindergarten.’

Georgie has previously opened up about her scoliosis diagnosis after having her first hip replacement in 2018.

Her hip problems stem from being diagnosed with scoliosis at the age of 13.

“Every scoliosis is different, it’s like a fingerprint – but mine is all in the torso, I’ve lost about two inches in height,” she told Body+Soul in 2020.

“It’s endless work, but I’m up for a challenge,” she told Now To Love in 2017 about dealing with the pain and stiffness that comes with the condition.

‘I suffer from it every day and I just have to stay fit to keep my back as functional as possible.

‘I’ve never hated it [having scoliosis] and it has made me realize how lucky I am that even though I have this big challenge, I can still live my life the way I want to.”

Her most recent surgery took place not long after she appeared on stage at Sydney’s Ensemble Theater to perform with Kate Raison in The Great Divide.

She also recently made a return to the long-running children’s television series Play School, sending fans wild.

Georgie became a fan favorite when she presented Play School from 2006 to 2012, returning for a brand new series spanning the show’s decades.

ABC paid tribute to its rotation of Play School hosts with an extra special series called Big Ted’s Time Machine, featuring the return of many familiar faces.

Each episode sees a current presenting duo go back in time to a previous era, with past presenters popping up for small cameos throughout the episodes.

Georgie returned to the franchise for the 1970s installment, describing her return as an “absolute joy”.

‘So many familiar faces and it brought back many wonderful memories. This has been a beloved program for a few generations. Hands up, who ever looked at it.’

Over its 363 seasons, Play School was hosted by approximately 100 presenters, with many of them appearing on screen again to commemorate the show’s history.
