Horror in Hawaii as ‘several people, including minors’ are found dead in home in suspected murder-suicide after neighbors reported an early morning argument

A father fatally stabbed his wife and three children before killing himself at their family home in Hawaii on Sunday morning, shocking a suspected murder-suicide.
Honolulu police found a knife after gaining entry to the home. All five bodies were found dead at the scene at the home in Manoa, a quiet residential area of Honolulu.
The five, including those of the suspect and his children aged 17, 12 and 10, were found on Sunday morning.
The massacre is the second deadliest homicide in Honolulu in nearly 25 years.
“HPD investigators are at a home in Manoa where multiple deceased individuals have been found,” police said in a statement.

“Based on the evidence recovered at the scene and the investigation to date, it appears that the adult male killed the female and juveniles with the knife recovered at the scene,” HPD Lt. Deena Thoemmes said at a news conference Sunday evening. .
‘Witnesses report that there was an argument in the house early this morning. Several murder investigations have been launched.”
Police said they received an anonymous call at 8:30 a.m. about a disturbance at that home on Waaloa Place, but no one answered the door for police officers when they arrived.
Officers returned to the house 45 minutes later at 9.15am when the discovery of the five dead was made.
‘She [first responding officers] left because it was an anonymous caller and no one was there to pick them up,” Lt. Thoemmes explained. ‘And that’s what they were called to do in the first place. It was the second call when they realized what had happened.”
“I believe an effort was made to determine who the initial caller was and I believe that individual was able to make contact with HPD at 9 a.m.,” HPD Chief Joe Logan added. “And please contact our agents personally so we can get more information and access at that time.”

The locals were shocked when they heard the terrible news.
“It’s concerning, neighbors are a little scared, usually we don’t have a lot of crime here, it’s very quiet so everyone wants to be safe and make sure everything is okay, but it’s just something that doesn’t happen here,” said neighbor Aime Wakai KHRON2.
“They are a typical really festive family, they dress up the house for the holidays and that’s normal,” added another neighbor, Hiro Izumo.
In an update to the Honolulu Police Department’s X account, “investigators have confirmed that the suspect is among those killed in the home.”
HPD Chief Joe Loga said the killings did not appear to be a random act. The motive is under investigation.
A heavy police presence was seen at a home on Waaloa Place in north Manoa, Hawaii News Now reported.
Two medical assessment vans were also seen next to Police Chief Logan and PEER support staff for officers.
